Cheryl00:38

Welcome to Women of the Metaphor. We are bringing you another female-led NFT project today called Women Rise. Like most NFT projects, Women Rise has a collection of 10,000 computer-generated designs illustrated beautifully by visual art artist, Maliha Abidi.

If you’ve listened to our other episodes on NFT projects, you will already know that they generate them by designing each feature individually. The collection represents women from all around the world rising to make the world a better place. It’s about positivity, women doing positive things.

Angela01:20

I love this so much.

It’s so good that all these women are doing this. Much like World of women, their mission is to build a community of like-minded people, give back to the community and to invite more women into the space. Also to contribute to the representation of women in tech, in blockchain and in the NFT space so that the current and the future girls and women in this space can see themselves be represented here.

Melia and her team are donating a portion of the profits to, for an organisation that supports women’s rights and girls’ education with a focus on girls’ education in Afghani. Afghanistan is the only country in the world where girls are denied access to secondary education. This happened last year, so why are we talking about women’s rise when it’s so similar to World of Women, Gerald?

Cheryl02:19

Well, in my opinion, the illustrations are better, and again, that’s just

Angela02:27

my opinion. We, yeah, we love our world of women, but. There’s differences in this art. Absolutely, Absolutely.

Cheryl02:33

And at this moment in time, you can pick one up for as little as $120 on open

Angela02:41

sea. So I think also what’s important that, because we’ve talked about it particularly in our last episode about tokens, sometimes now, and I think you’ll see this a lot in the future.

It’s not about the art so much or of some digital art will be just about the art where. What’s behind and what the tokens represent really is what’s so important. So you can see from what Malia is doing around this, you know, giving profits to Afghanistan or to women. That’s what’s important about this, isn’t it?

Cheryl03:15

Yeah. It’s worth mentioning as well that Malia is a American Pakistani, she went to Oxford University and all. She’s completely focused on representing women in. Web free environment, which is fantastic.

Angela03:32

Yeah. Yeah. Cuz there’s so few. So few. Yeah.

Cheryl03:36

The Women Rise ultimate goal is to build the first school in the metaphor for the 258 million children who are currently out of

Angela03:45

school.

This is, That’s incredible. I just, This is amazing. Yeah. She’s got some good,

Cheryl03:51

her own map system, totally. 129 million of them are girls and they have already started working. We also need to talk about how Gary V. Yes, that name comes up a lot in our podcast, but Gary minted the maximum amount of NFTs per wallet from the women rice collection.

And I think it’s so great that Gary is supporting women in the NFT space, but he has such a big influence in this area. Yeah.

Angela04:19

I think he also, didn’t he buy some world of women as well? Yeah, I think he’s also champion in them. He

Cheryl04:24

champions a lot. So again, if you wanna jump on board, it’s perfect opportunity.

Angela04:30

Yeah. It’s important to remember that the market is still dominated by men. However, projects like this world of women and boss beauties are making a splash in this space and are selling out like hotcakes. Women-led NFT projects are more endorsed than ever, and we are probably seeing many more in 2020.

And it could be your project. We’re looking, we are excited to talk about more female led NFT projects. Definitely.

Cheryl04:56

We’ll always champion them in our podcast. Yeah,

Angela04:58

absolutely.
